QR Code Generator & Scanner processes QR content locally in the user's browser. The extension does not operate analytics, does not sell or share data, does not display personalized advertising, and does not transmit QR contents, current-tab URLs, custom logos, or selected page screenshots to a server.
When the user chooses Scan, the extension temporarily captures only the visible region selected by that user. The image is decoded locally and discarded after decoding. Created and scanned values, language settings, and an optional custom logo are stored only in chrome.storage.local when the corresponding feature is enabled. Users can clear QR history and remove their logo from the extension.
The extension uses activeTab and injects its selection overlay only after the user chooses the scan action. Chrome pages such as chrome:// and the Chrome Web Store may not allow scanning.
